Bogacki Holds on for Tenn-Tuck Crown Despite Subpar Weekend.
Twenty-three year-old Huntsville Engine employee Luke Bogacki
added to his growing list of racing accomplishments last weekend
at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, KY. Beech
Bend is the home of the prestigious Tenn-Tuck racing series, a
bracket racing event that features nine $10,000 to win events
spread over three weekends each
season. The Tenn-Tuck series showcases some of the
toughest competition in the nation, with touring bracket racers
attending from all over the country. The nine race series
offers one of the largest points payouts of any bracket series,
including $5,000 to the season champion. |

|
Bogacki, who accomplished an unprecedented feat by winning all
three of the first weekends events (two in March, and one that
was contested in July due to weather), held on to the points
championship despite early exits in each of the events last
weekend.
I had two really good cars this weekend, and I felt like I drove
pretty well--things just did not come together. But
obviously, Bowling Green treated me really well this season.
When you consider the level of competition, and the talent
and equipment that participates in the
Tenn-Tuck series--I feel like winning the points championship is
an awesome accomplishment.
Bogacki won the title by six rounds, over Scotty Richardson and
Ken Sullivan who tied for second place. Ray Miller
finished the season in fourth, ahead of Wes May who rounded out
the top five.
The Tenn-Tuck championship adds another notch in what has become
an astounding list of accomplishments for young Bogacki. Bogacki
is a 3- time IHRA division 4 champion, and claimed the 2001
B&M Series division championship. He was the 2002
Southern Super Tens Bracket Series World Champion, and finished
in the top ten of IHRAs Q/R & H/R national standings the
same season. In his relatively short career, Bogacki has
scored national and divisional event wins in addition to over 25
big money bracket victories. Bogack's career earnings
total well over
$500,000.
Today's bracket racing world is so competitive, youve got to
have great combination before you can think about winning races.
My HEPC Money Winner 555, BTE trans and converter, Mickey
Thompson Tires, and quality equipment from all of our marketing
partners give me a car that I can depend on round after round.
Bogackis marketing partners include: Huntsville

Bogacki Continues Tenn-Tuck Hot Streak. Huntsville
Engine & Performance's Luke Bogacki continued his near
domination of the 2004 Tenn-Tuck Series at Beech Bend Raceway
Park in Bowling Green, KY last weekend, July 9-11. Bogacki,
the 23-year-old sales and marketing manager, went
undefeated back at the first Tenn- Tuck event in March, winning
both the Friday and Sunday events (the Saturday event was
postponed due to rain) in his Huntsville Engine backed
Miller 4-link Dragster. The
July Tenn-Tuck event brought more of the same for Bogacki.
Although he was defeated in the third round of Friday's $10,000
event, Bogacki entered the "Little Race" Friday
evening, and emerged victorious in the $2,000-to-win bonus
race. Saturday morning, Bogacki continued his winning ways in
the "make-up" race (from the postponed March event),
defeating a red-lighting Adam Cline in the final round and
claiming the $10,000 prize. By winning the make-up race, Bogacki
in essence completed a sweep the first event (two days in March
and one day in June) as the winner of all three days--a
feat never before duplicated. To add to his resume at the
South Kentucky facility, the victory marked Bogacki's
fourth $10,000 Tenn-Tuck win in the last three Tenn-Tuck events
(dating back to the final 2003 event in October), in
addition to his $2,000 triumph in Friday's event. Although
Bogacki completed the July weekend with a first round finish in
Saturday evenings event, and a third round loss Sunday, he is
still solidly in the Tenn-Tuck Triple Crown points lead, over
Wes May and Scotty Richardson, with only one weekend remaining
in the series. "I can't explain our success at this
facility," commented Bogacki. "I really can't. I
love this place--my car always seems to work well here,
and I feel more comfortable on the tree here than anywhere in
the country. But there are so many talented drivers here, and so
much good equipment.... What I've accomplished here really
shouldn't be done. I've just gotten all the breaks at all
the right times." As
for the pending battle for the points championship, Bogacki had
this to say: "Right now I know it looks good for me
on paper--I've won three of the six events so far. But my points
total isn't out of reach by any means. If I lose first round in
any of the races in October, there are five guys or so who could
win the race and catch me. And all of guys who are close
in the points are very capable of winning a race on any
given day. I've read about the Tenn-Tuck series for most of
my life, and in my eyes the point's championship is one of
the most illustrious titles that a bracket racer can aim
for. It would mean a lot to me to come out on top--but
this place doesn't owe me anything. If I don't win a single
round in October it's still been a heck of a
ride!" Bogacki has had a standout season on more
fronts than the Tenn-Tuck Series. He is currently in the
Top Ten in the B&M/Hedman Hedders Series point's standings,
a series in which he has claimed victory this season.
Additionally, he was the weekend points champion at the
inaugural "Fistful of Dollars" event at Montgomery
Motorsports Park, and the "Ten Grand Nationals" at
Norwalk Raceway Park. He also claimed a $5,000 Footbrake
victory at the BTE Series event at Huntsville Dragway in
May, and followed it with a runner-up the next day. All
told, Bogacki has earned six victories in eleven finals in
2004. 01-06-04.
Fresh
off his Pro Win at Huntsville Dragway in Huntsville, AL. Jeremy
Patterson valted himself to 40 points lead in the Huntsville
Draway NHRA Points Lead. Patterson took is first Win of
the season May 22nd; to go along with numerous late round
finishes. Patterson stated, "I've just had great,
later rounds consistency out of my Car". Patterson
pilots a 2001 Miller 4-Link Dragster powered by 532"
BBC. Congrats goes out to Jeremy from the staff at Miller
Race Cars. 02-23-04
